DART “Stories” Campaign

Back in April of 2013, I created a series of three short videos for Des Moines Area Regional Transit.

The videos were created over three weeks in preparation for an event in Washington DC. It was a crazy schedule and the concept felt a bit like shooting the moon, but the process was a lot of fun. I got to work with a lot of my favorite local actors and I had a lot of creative freedom with the storylines.

The three stories are featured below along with a compilation edit:

“The Student”

“The Senior”

“The Worker”

2014 Directing Reel

Welcome. This page features regular posts about my ongoing projects.

The above video is my current reel. More recent projects can be found below.

Snow Timelapse

This was shot last night out my living room window. A two-second exposure was snapped every 60 seconds. It was one of my first times using Magic Lantern’s intervalometer, and I’m pretty happy with the results.

There are a lot of fun elements to notice, I’m embarrassed to admit I’ve watched it about eight times since the file rendered. The flickering you see towards the end is the power going in and out.

Fleming Building Living Spaces Demo

Two videos created to show off the excellent living spaces in Des Moines historic Fleming Building. The building was designed by Chicago’s legendary Daniel Burnham, who, by the way, is one of the coolest people in American history.

Big 12 Basketball Tournament

The Big 12 Tournament brings thousands of visitors from across the Midwest to Kansas City’s Power and Light District. It’s an eclectic and colorful bunch.

This video was shot over two days in a three block area. As a shooting challenging, I decided not to reorder any clips in editing, forcing myself to “cover” each moment as it was happening.
